I have a 97 nl pajero with 15 x 6 steel rims fitted and am considering fitting wider rims. I have read that toyota rims are different offset. I occasionally see rims in the local paper ie navara, mazda etc but am unsure if the offsets would be right. Can anyone give me some tips on what will fit and any pitfalls I should be aware of. I suspect i would also have to fit wheel arch flares due to the extra width. I was not wanting to go extreme ...probably 265/15 or similar.

thanks Kc

Hi Kc.
I had a set of 15x8 on myNL(had to fit flares).I sold them & went back to GLS pajero mags with 10R's.It was a nicer vehicle to steer with the smaller wheels.
You could try a set of 16" mags(off later model pajero).

G'day Kc,
I was running 15 x 7 on my NJ Paj.

The offset that you need is the Navara offset. 15 x 7 fit no worries and wheel arch flares are not needed.

Thanks Vince and Stu did you have any wear/alignment problems with the wider tyres?

No problems with wear as I rotated the tyres every 10k. Just keep an eye on your wheel alignment especially if you get into some rough stuff.
