Hey guys,
I bought two new sunraysias for my troopy.
The wheels on the car are 16 x 7 and I now have two 16 x 8 spares.
I fitted a new 16 x 8 to the left hand front and it cleared the calliper by about 0.5mm.
I fitted the other new 16 x 8 to the right hand front and it rubs on the calliper.
All wheels, old and new, 7" and 8" are the same offset.
I went to the tyre
shop and they can't figure it out.
The same wheel touches the calliper on one side but not the other.
The only solution so far is to grind about 1mm off the calliper!!!
Any suggestions?
Cheers, Jack

Phil, I am not sure exactly what measurement you are after, could you describe it in a bit more detail please.
I have the 75 series 6 stud troopy.
I have measured all around the caliper and mounting surface (not including the wheel) and both front sides are identical.
All wheels are zero offset.
The tyres dont rub, just the wheel touching the calliper.
Cheers, Jack

Jack,
The above diagram shows what backspace is. If a wheel has no tyre on it, you simmply lay it down on concrete, and heasure the distance. If you have a tyer on it, lay a piece of string across the inside of the rim and measure.
Backspace needs to be the same on a particular vehicle (to prevent fouling). Offset will differ with the width of the rim - so the offset on a split rim, 7 inch and 8 inch rim will have different numbers for your troopie.
I'm guessing that the 16x8 rims have too much backspacing - I reckon they may be the ones for the 80series and Prado. The backspacing for your 75series should be about 65-80mm.
