The average cost of running a large family car increased by $73.28 to $265.97 a week, the NRMA said. The Sahara costs $413.86 a week, almost four times that of the cheapest car to run, the Hyundai Getz, which costs $119.53 a week."As a percentage, hybrids and other fuel-efficient vehicles tend to have higher capital costs and depreciate more, so any savings at the bowser may get eaten up in these other costs."
I could get a lot of bus and taxi rides for that and save the trouble of doing all the driving. trouble is I am hooked on travelling. I shoulda turned to drugs, its cheaper.
LOL

These running cost surveys are great for people who see a car in the same way they see a fridge, as an appliance...For the rest of us who see it as a life style choice...BAH HUMBUG!!!! LOL I will continue to run my Patrol for as long as it puts a smile on my familys face as we head out of the rat race and into the bush away from all those surveys, opinion polls, t.v's ect ect ect
Cheers Stefan

2/3rds of that cost is depreciation?
Don't buy such an expensive car in the first place.
