Shame, shame and double shame....

In the light of recent posts to this forum I know people will be as shocked, not to mention disappointed, at the sad spectacle of _total_ disregard for the law I witnessed in the southern suburbs of Melbourne this afternoon; I saw... a woman talking on a hand-held mobile phone whilst driving!!! PD?852 you should be _ashamed_ of yourself! Consider the tiny children, pregnant women, nuns and little kittens you were putting at risk of serious injury or death!!!

What's worse people, and I know Derek will not be surprised to hear this, I strongly suspect she was _NOT_ a member of Explore Oz!

What is the world coming to? I know I can count on much support from the pious people of this worthy forum in my condemnation of such acts.

In sadness,
Mike Harding

GeoffMc , glad you think that I'm being funny, NOT , if you used half your brain you would see the total sarcasm expressed as to this post and the prior that Mike is alluding to , we ALL seem to have this idea in our heads that road rules /laws are there for the breaking , its a sport , its fun and games , Until someone gets hurt or dies ,then just maybe for 5min at the funeral we just went to, we modify our thinking and behaviour on the road ,lasts all of 10 min after having 3 beers at the wake. ,funny bugger , yep.

"got a comment on trucks racing trains by any chance ?"

So you know that for sure do you ?
Maybe you should pass this knowledge onto the investigating police, I'm sure they would be gratefull that you have saved them weeks and weeks of testing and time in comong up with this "fact".
Maybe you could also let them in on what secret you used to come about this "fact".
Or am I misreading your comments and you are merely arrogantly "assuming" again ?

Pezza ,the only one doing any assuming is your self , the comment was and is a sarcastic reflection of the post , , how we all seem to trivialise road rules even when carnage is presented , at no stage have I said that the truck /train in this instance were racing , you only assume so , next you will tell us that the so called accident that happened on the Gold Coast leaving a 7mth old and a 2 yr old DEAD is nothing but an "accident", pigs fly , drugs in car ? open half consumed booze ?domestic argument in process , an ACCIDENT , yeah ,get real.

The tiny pregnant nuns should keep their eyes open when crossing the road. Kittens grow into feral cats so running them over is a public service.

Mike, you are so right.

I shake my head in disgust at such behaviour.

I trust you tailgated that person to thier front door and let them know in no uncertain words about thier errors.

You need to keep up the Exploroz tradition of having a good go at any one not as perfect as the better members of this forum, and particularly having a go at new members.

Mike, if you have not corrected that person, I am deeply disappointed in you.
You will need to be banned from this forum for at least two weeks, and post your car keys to David to hold for such said period.

Or, at least one days flagellation, method to be decided by the forum.
(Any one got a suggestion, whipping with a snatch strap, keel hauling through under the car 20 times with a drag chain?)

Any one who dares to contradict you obviously can not meet the required standards and be relegated to the class of 'poorer' members of this forum, and be limited in access to the forum, and similar punishment applied.

Harding, I don't consider myself particulary pious, more your total cynic... I do however support the total damnation of this act.
Having said that as long as it was not a petite redhead AKA Miranda as I was talking to her this morning and if it was then I would be guilty of distracting a female while in control of a motor vehicle...
I won't tell you all again what the Cop remarked to me after a power dressed Woman ran into the back of the Jack while making an important phone call.

I sat on this forum for 2 years as a visitor, I procrastinated about becoming a member I thought all the c**p had been finished and over with, didn't contribute just viewed threads cause didn't want anyone assuming I was a dumb blonde. Decided to become a member now not so sure. Most of the comments I have read re this thread and a prior one have been very interesting, made my night fly while hubby is at work however, I must point out that most of it is childish school yard c**p. I think its time I went bush again to let the dust in the school yard settle, when I return maybe there will be some interesting reading which is helpful not hurtful. There seems to be some growing up needed. And before people start coming back at me, it is a free country you all had your say, now I've had mine. Don't understand how grown men can take to bait, line, hook and sinker.

Debbie you must really be blonde if you don't know why we males rise to the bait, it's like the constant urge to mate, rising to the bait is genetically encoded in us, we have no choice, we just do as the "supreme being" programmed us.....As to your assertion that we are childish well true too but we have to average it out some of us are permanently childish bougt h on by marriage and always being told what to do so we never get the chance to grow up and behave in a sensible mature, manner. It's very difficult being a male and keeping a sense of perspective after all we were created first, by the time "woman" was created many of the quirks had been ironed out....

That woman talking on the mobile phone was lucky, in my day we had to use two syrup tins on a length of string. We had to make our own string too!

People have got it easy these days.

Bonz: Millicent has read this thread and, given your propensity for "unique" methods of communication, tells me she is disappointed you failed to respond earlier.

Goats may not have driving licences or use mobile phones (much!?) but they have feelings nonetheless - I suspect you would be well advised to send flowers (not roses - the thorns, you know - John thingie has a problem here).
