Hi all,

This morning I tried to include the name of a well-know diesel specialist based in Berrima but the name was blocked by the ExOz site because the business "didn't what to be mentioned on the site" What gives? Have they been given a panning in the past? I've only previously heard good repoprts about them.

That should have read "well-known". Oh, for an "edit" function on this site...

Ian

I have had the same problem with the same business in the past.

I think it went in a member message.

I think the "lawyer" bit explains an awful lot if one is to read between the lines. My understanding is that the forum proprietors can be held liable as the "publisher" should I as a contributor post defamatory material.

Only because they choose to edit and censor the forum, that action makes them editors and, thus, jointly responsible for content. This is the reason those of us who run other forum or mailing lists stopped editing some years ago, if we ever did.

I had a similar situation discussing phonelines, the forum wouldn't accept the word landlin'x' but homeline was ok.

Forumites.

This is an historical situation which most of the older members are aware of and is in the archives.

I personally use the Berrima Business for a couple of things on a vehicle I have and during visits there, have become aware that they do not wish to participate in/on this forum.

Should you you wish to contact them about any matter, then you are quite welcome to do so and they will happily discuss any matters - vehicle orientated - with you.

Their contact details can be located with either a google or White Pages search.

Thats it - nothing more or less.
