I have one of the single piston types and it works well especially after I replaced the cable with a big thick mother. 6mm I think.

I bought a Grunter compressor from Marlowes a few years ago for around $70, when it died I bought a twin head compressor that was rated to produce 150 litres per minute and cost $245.

It was quick but that was about it. It sometimes wouldnt start, and when it did it "reved" up and down and the power cable got real hot to touch and the on/off switch kept dislodging itself. The last time I used it the fuse in the cable melted and I had to drive about 20kms into Lancelin to pump up my tyres.

After that I decided no more cheap compressors and went out and bought a Bluetongue. Its not as fast but it will be around for a long time I reckon.
