Footloose
Greetings all knowledgeable Forumites.
Can anyone tell me more about these tyres ?
Wear ?
Noise ?
Handling in the bush and on the blacktop ?
I've been offered a set at a great price, but having previously run Kellys, have no knowledge of them
TIA

They seem to be used extensively on vehicles in the mines, at least in Qld. I have seen several ex mines vehicles and they were all fitted with these tyres. They must be reasonably durable.

Depends on car weight Footloose.
Also run 235/85 on my Patrol but in AT pattern , considered the rubber blocks to be inadequte and squirm in MT pattern for that size.
Mate once had'em on early Rangie and were good , also seem'em put to good effect on Hi-lux.
Can't commet on noise.
I was glad that 255/85/16 are now available in Maxxis muds , these are acceptable all round in 2.5t cars

Robin,
You may find that the Load Index on the 235/85 Bridgestones (120) is a touch greater than on your 255/85 Maxxis (119).

Footloose, Excellent tyre, Have run them on my 105 L/cruiser for a couple of years, around 53,000km now and still legal. Although about to replace with same again, road noise is there but not that bad. Squirming, forget about it, have gone around some bends at speeds which have amazed me, no sensation of squirming to me.
Cheers Peter and Lez
