Equinox just rang me a few minutes ago on his Satphone from Karrinarri Claypan(Warri Site) off the Eagle Highway where he found my business card in the bottle where the plaque is situated.

He has been travelling alone and has not seen another human for 7 days.

Equinox says he did the back road through Rudall River NP to Cotton Creek Community and that the track was extremely rough and it was best to go off track. Then the track from Windy Corner along the Gary Hwy to the Eagle Hwy was also extremely rough with lots of fallen trees and off track driving was best.

He also managed to drive to McPhersons Pillar which lies west of the Gary Hwy. There are no tracks out there and as far as he can seen no one has has been there with a vehicle. He climbed the pinnacle and put a note inside a glass bottle for someone to find one day. This trek involved some 200kilometres offtrack driving and he is pleased to report that he only had 3 punctures with his Cooper STT's and all were tread stakes and not sidewall stakes.

His journey will now take him to Wiluna where he will meet upwith his brother and then they will go off on another adventure together.

These are the things that real adventures are made of!!! Good on him!

Cheers

Hi Willem.
It is great to see that the spirit of outback adventure still lives on.

Only 3 staked tyres, come on now it's got to be a typo ;)

At least someone is having fun while the rest of us are stuck at home.

Cheers Kev

Had a set of Cooper once(ONCE), got three staked tyres going to the local shop.
Joke, but half serious.

As I said in response to the post he put up before he left......"I hate him." You can remind him of that if he calls again Willem.

What I really hate is that he is out there having all that fun and I am stuck here. If you look east mate you will probably see the green glow in the sky, that's me.

Sounds like those Coopers are the go for the tough stuff ehhh!....................ducking for cover now.

Hi Willem

don't hit me but

"He also managed to drive to McPhersons Pillar which lies west of the Gary Hwy. There are no tracks out there and as far as he can seen no one has has been there with a vehicle"

the track is purple on Hema maps, which means thay drove out there.

Didn't Equinox say he was going to Nipper Pinnacle or is this on it's way?
