Some help with abbreviations please !!

Hello all, I am an old codger with limited capapilities on the computer and even less in the brain compartment but trying hard to learn.
When I first joined & saw reference to "GU" I thought it related to a particular make & year model of a given vehicle.But that somehow seems not to be the case, so what is "GU" when talking about vehicles?
& dont bloody laugh or give me a hard time, but what the hell does "lol" mean, I first thought it was a way of gently letting someone down by concluding with "LOL" as in "Lots Of Love" so as not to offend. So when you pick yourself up off the floor would someone be so kind to enlighten me please. Thanks &"LOL" !!!

Hi David
Can you make a link from the Abbreviation to the Abbreviations list
eg put kerser over LOL click and it takes you to the Abbreviations list so you can read what "LOL" means?

Im with you Barry. Ive been seeing those LOL kissoffs for weeks now but have never said a word; assuming that if a couple of gay blades wanted to get into the 4WD thing and
sign off with lots of love then who was I to complain. After all, I wouldnt want anyone to think I was homophobic now, would I. It does however make me laugh to think that I may have inadvertantly offended someones masculinity by assuming LOL meany more than it apparently does.
