well everything is packed, the tanks are full, just us & the pillows to go & we'll be on our way to the Kimberly via Alice & the GJR, if you happen to see BIG DOG on the open road give us a wave, if you see us camped up stop by & say G'day.
Looking forward to the trip but not the bills that will accompany our return ;-))

Have a great trip. Makes me jealous. Think of me on the 23rd June and heading off to Fraser for a week.
Your trip brings back memories of a trip for us in 1990. 11 weeks on the road and we only did NT and the Kimberleys back to Booroola and straight home to
Brisbane in 3 days for work the folowing week.
Have a good one.

Rod,
I hope you have a great time.
Last year we did a similar trip to what you are doing and enjoyed it all immensely. The
Gary Junction Road was one of the highlights of our trip. It's amazing country out there.
If you're looking for a
camp spot there is a good one about 30km west of the border. You'll come to a grove of Desert Oak & some white gums. There are small hills either side of the road and on the Hema map they're marked as
Dover Hills. There is a track that leads off to the left and takes you to a cleared area about half a km off the road. We camped there and in the morning climbed the
hill behind our
camp. The sunrise and the view of the
Gibson Desert were brilliant. I guess that is why that spot has stayed in my memory as being so good.
All the best and happy travels
Viv

Thanks for the
camping spot info Viv, not sure just where we will be stopping but that sounds like a very nice spot, most of the time all I look for is a level area to
park on, no need to look for cleared areas when you sleep 3 meters off the ground.
We are very excited now, will be tough sleeping tonight !
Thanks again.
