Well it's getting closer. On the 4th we will be heading off from
Gladstone(QLD) to
Cairns, then to
Cooktown the following day where at this stage we will probably stay for 4 or 5 days ( depending on the weather ). We had recently upgraded our campertrailer to a "Gulf King", a new fridge (cf-80) & a few other knick knacks to make our holiday that little bit more enjoyable. At this stage the plan is to work our way back down the coast ( no real time limit ). If anyone has any ideas or any
places two 10 yr olds might enjoy, feel free to pass them on to me. We are all keen on fishing so i think i might splurge out on a reef fishing trip for us all whilst in
Cooktown. I would like to also take them in the estuary to throw a few crab pots out, but i'm not sure if they do boat hire there or not?
So if anyone sees a gold Patrol ( preferably cruising along & not on the side of the road with the
hazard lights flashing,,,hahaha ) towing a Gulf King, don't be a stranger, give us a toot or say g'day.

Have a great trip. Hubby & I are from
Gladstone QLD too, but left there in August last year to do a 5yr trip around Oz and are now in Kalgoorlie picking up some work and looking forward to a tag-along tour from
Broome to Pt
Augusta at the end of July.
While you are up north take look at the daintree/
cape tribulation area it's fantastic. although it could be a bit packed at this time of year as summer is too hot to go there.
Mossman gorge is worth a look, very beautiful too, not sure if there's anything for the kids to do, it's just a half hour diversion on road from Cape Trib to
Cairns. Enjoy and drive safely...
