Greetings all, this info might be useful for someone. I purchased an 1986 Jayco standard poptop a few months ago, and recently got around doing some maintenance. This one has eye to eye shackle leaf springs and is therefore a bit higher off the ground. Not sure whether it came out of the factory this way or was upgraded by the first owner (the annex matches the higher ground clearance). There's one extra leaf on the left side, I assume to cope with the extra weight of fridge, stove and sink. The bearings are a combination of Ford and Holden (Ford outer and Holden inner), so you can't just go to Repco or Supercheap when you need replacements. I got
mine at Statewide Bearings in Dandenong for $45 (four bearings and two seals). This was a bit cheaper than the Jayco spares place in Dandenong. Cheers. Rob.
