Hi all Im in the final stages of finishing the rear bar Ive built for the cruiser and need to purchase a latch to do the job of holding shut the swing out arm for the wheel, I have been to a few 4B shops and they say that the Kmar latch is not available on its own ( without the carrier around $600) and they dont know where else to send me I have also been to a few shops like Nepean bolt master here in Penrith but they only have the small thread adjustable type which dont look like there going to do the job so do you guys have any suggestions as I want to get into it this weekend , hope to hear from you guys and thanx in advance for any advice .

There is aplace at Wetherill Park that sells all that type of stuff or you could try Formula Off Road at St Marys.
I'll try and remember the name of the mob at WP and repost, I bought mine from them, they sell all the stuff for truck bodies

Brain awake now ;-)) Universal Engineers, Macnaughts or Nepean Boltmaster, the last one 'might' have them, the other two will.

From what I can remember UE moved somewhere else and Macnaughts (not sure of the correct spelling) are in the same complex that UE used to be in. M's were run by a bloke who used to work for UE apparently. M's did have a website, i haven't bought anything from either of them for a few years now.

I bought mine off Opposite Lock in Karratha. I dont think it is called the spring clamp as there isnt any spring in it...('heavy duty latch' - maybe)
I cant remember how much it was but if I was to do it again I wouldnt get the same one (a bit too bulky) - although I suppose it hasnt let me down.....
If you send me your email I can email you a picture of what it looks like

Hi Drew , I just got off the phone with OL and they said it comes in 2 pieces and it would cost me $140 then I checked out how they look and yes I agree they are a bit bulky ,I also checked out TJMs and it was $52.80 and looked good yet because of the fact that there is no ring on hook system I was concerned that if the bearing on the swing arm ever had free play it might jump up and down and the wheel may swing out ( OUCH!!) which made me choose (DRUM ROLL PLEASE) the formula off road latch as it looks strong and that will cost $70.00 so I'm going to pick it up tomorrow morning so I can start welding the arm on , I did check out a latch at Carousel trailers and was considering it but I think it may be a bit small for the job but the price was $22.00 and I had to just bite the bullet and hope I made the right choice with formulas , knowing my luck someone will post me and say OH YEAH that's the same one I bought for $20.00 but what can I do ?? thanx for all your and everyone else's help as it once again was critical in my decision .

Kind Regards John.
