Found the two bolts on the underside holding on the genuine Toyota towbar on 120 Series Prado quite loose. I suspect there are more than 2 bolts holding the towbar on. Can anyone please advise if there are others and where they are located? Do you need to take the bumper bar off to tighten them?

I would be contacting your local Toyota dealer. If it is still under warranty it their problem and they should record the issue if they suplied and fitted it.
Also I'd be a bit concerned about the strength of the 120 series tow bar after seeing what the Gall boys did to one towing a Kedron on Fraser Island. The entire tow head snapped off, chains and all! Even made me think about replacing the ORE with a Hayman Reese.

Hi Wizard,
Just to add to this without answer the original post.... the current Nissan pathfinder and the Nissan genuine towbar are having problems - with bolts snapping and a stipulation that sway bars are not to be used with the genuine Nissan towbar. See posts www.pcoa.com.au (pathfinder club)
I am looking at a new towie so looked at the Pathfinder. I asked the question of my local, a regional, Nissan dealer "what tow bar are you recommending ?"... answer "Hayman Reese"... they have read the articles as
well and say they have a reputaion and goodwill to maintain.

I just went out and had a look at
mine.
I assume the ones you tightened up are the two that screw upwards. By the looks of it the bar wraps up and around towards the back behind the bumper bar. The bar will have to come off to check those. Looks like an easy job. Whilst its off I would check the two vents on either side behind the bar to make sure they are working ok as
mine aren't and let unacceptable levels of dust into the rear.

Yes you have to remove the plastic trim. It may look like a bar from the outside but it's just trim. underneath it's quite solid mind you. The tow bar is actually quite small and bolts on to the bodywork, It's some time since I fitted
mine but I feel there are 4 more bolts conceiled. Was a bit of a pain to fit - had to cut the section out of the rear trim (bumper).
