I have decided to get a pair of Lightforce 170s. The question is: should I get clear or blue covers?
regards,
David

Ozidave

I have a set of lightforce and at that time they came with clear covers and you had to get blue covers as an extra. I got the blue covers and have only used them since.

Hows it going Derek ,

Do you think the Crystal Blue lenses are so much better.

Just getting used to having some real lights.

Thanks again for giving me the best possible price on the 240's

Glenn.

Hi Glenn

Glad you are happy with your new lights.

The Crystal blue lenses take the yellow out of the light and give a whiter light and appear brighter especially off road.

Here is a picture of halogen globes vs halogen blue globes. It will give you a bit of an idea of the effect of Crystal Blue lenses.

Regards

Derek.

Just done this upgrade to my headlights and am very pleased with the results.

Will see how the 240's go standard for a while.

derek,

That photo you have is that the same set of lights with the same wattage. There seems to be one hell of a difference in the quantity of light inthe photo

Hi David

I don't know. It was not a test that I did. It was from the silverstar website.

Regards

Derek.

Out of interest what is the rrp for Lightforce 170's?
I have been given two pairs as I am trying to raise funds for our local hospital, that is suffering through lack of funding.

People like to use the blue lenses as the clear gives a soft yellow light and can make you tired or sleepy quicker than a white light. I have clears on my 240 XGT and can understand the theory. Blue ones will be going on for highway treks in future. I dont know if they make a spread beam blue if you want one of each.
I think the red ones have something to do with kangas not being bedazzled and hopefully bounce out of the way.
I am not to sure which ones alter the performance of the light.

I've got crystal blue covers on the XGTs, I reckon that they do produce a better quality of light.
