Greetings all
While renewing the CV boots on the LHS drive shaft of my NB Pajero last weekend (what a fun job that is), I noticed that the spacer that is sandwiched between the end of the input shaft & the hub assembly has some grooves cut into it on one side.
Can somebody enlighten me as to what these grooves are for (I'm guessing lubrication) & the correct orientation for this spacer (i.e. grooved side to centre of vehicle or grooved side to outside of vehicle).
Many Thanks
