Andi,

There's heaps of discussion in the archives on this. The threads range from the expensive ARB "áir locker'', through the detroit auto, to te 4WDSystems auto lokka unit. Lots of opinions on front/back etc for you to surf.

For me, go with the latter on the front if you have manual hubs.

I haven't read the archives as yet but I have front and rear air lockers, I had initial problems with a couple of air leaks but apart from that great, the reduction of strain on both the engine and the body structure is very noticeable, for once momentum isn't one of the most popular answers. I've had a red light fitted in the speedo pod after a couple of near misses forgetting turn the lockers off, if you thought you had a turning circle forget it, straight line is good.
I find having lockers is a good feeling, and when I've used them to get out of a tricky situations they pay for themselves over and over, I also find that a certain amount of confidence in the car develops in the family knowing what the old girl is actually capable of. Keep the shiny side up

Yep, Lock rights front and rear, 2 years and 60 000+kms and no problems.
(apart from two blown CVs and a sheared axle)

Ahh the price of using lockers!! You have to pay for that extra traction somewhere and its always the weak points in the driveline!! Not all that expensive when you add up the amounts of times youo would have driven out of unlocked bog!!

I know, I reckon that I am still ahead.

All that damage happened in one go, when i placed myself in a situation that i normally wouldn't to help an individual that I normally wouldn't.
