Hello all,

Hope all is going well, I'm seeking some recommendations on caravan parks in Carnarvon for a few days, I will be in a camper trailer. Does any body have any pleasing experience that you could share with me please?

All the best,

They are a rip off in Carnarvon stay at Injune Van park where the tariff is virtually free and do day trips from there.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Cheers Dodg.

When we are in Carnarvon we stay at the Marloo CP, it is a Seniors/Retirees park, unfortunately they do not allow dogs but it is well kept and clean. There is a park not far from there (the name escapes me at the moment) that does allow dogs and looks a nice clean and well kept CP. As far as ripping people off, I don't think that Carnarvon CPs have a monoply there, all the CPs that we go to anyway seem to have their rates up a bit these days but then I guess that their overheads have increased as well.

Cheers

Just moved out of the Big smoke to Dalwallinu, not as far North as I wanted yet but will do for a few months, , this park is not just clean , it is CCCLEAN , and quiet although I could hear a Rooster early this morning...only just so it is not loud enough to wake one, close to the highway just through the fence, about 150 meters from me, the Trucks don't worry me, I guess over the years driving and sleeping amid them you get used to them , Tonight there is only 3 overnighters came in , I just about got the whole place to me and Dusty. Took him over to the caretakers house to introduce him to thier 2 , one is 14 , medium size, and the other is about 1/4 again the size of Dusty , a bit bigger than small and they all got on ok , just so nice to be in the country away from the sirens, traffic, peak hour,

Hi Doug and Dusty, there is nothing nicer than to stay in the bush, we are country people at heart, ( both being brought up in the bush) and love to get out of the 'big smoke', to wake up with birds running accross the top of the caravan, roosters crowing, nothing nicer. Five weeks to go and then off camping, can't wait.

Cheers

D

PS by the way Simba says HI to Dusty and to tell Dusty that she is going fine at the moment with her three legs.

I lived in Carnarvon up until recently...go the Wintersun. If it's full, next on list is the Capricorn. Both good.

The Coral Coast Van park is closest to town and not bad either, I'd pick one of the 1st 2 I mentioned unless you want to be close to town.

A good tip to remember is that if there is rain around, only go to the Capricorn, it's elevated, the others will flood.

It hardly ever rains in Carnarvon, so this isn't really an issue.

Good luck.

Going back a few year now - we chose the one in town ( 2 trips). An easy to walk to the shops. Short drive to the jetty to go fishing each evening. Enjoyed the company of our neighbouring campers. It had all we needed including laundromat, and was all kept clean. Nothing too fancy - we don't like paying for facilities we don't use.

Thank you all so much for your responses, we're off in a couple of weeks time for about 2 weeks camping mostly at Nigaloo on the beach. If your around the area keep an eye out for a blue and silver surf 4Runner with 3 sets of spotties on the Rhino roof rack, call in and say hello, most welcome.

Thanks again and all the best,
