Hi everyone, I am in the market for a new offroad camper trailer and have been told about Simon Heard Campers, located in Shepparton, Vic. Just wondering if anyone out there has one of these camper trailers and if so could they enlighten me with regards to whether they are of good quality & robust enough for offroad camping/driving etc.
Thanks in advance, and
Regards,
John

Hi John
I have had a Simon Heard Camper now for 6 years. It is the off-road model and I have taken it all across Australia. It has never let me down in the trailer or the canvas.I added all the extras myself(battery, kitchen,
water tank and toolboxes). After each big trip I do the bearings and touch up the stone chips, then it stays undercover in the shed ready for next time. One of the best things I have bought. It sleeps the 5 of us with ease.

When you say you do the bearings, what do you do ??
Do you remove them and wash them with kero and repack them ??

Yes Gronk
Just take the
wheels off and check the bearings, regrease them and nip them back up again.

Do you do the ones on your vehicle as frequently?

We bought one in 1997 and had it for 8 years, never a problem. Withe the ALKO
suspension, you need to manage the tyre pressure depending on the weight in the trailer so it does not bounce thats all. Got a bit fussy and Upgraded to a Aussie Swag with a better kitchen, bed and up off the ground but SH certianly a good camper. Good Luck
