TD wasn't available in a troopie until 2001.
No such thing as an auto troopie.
The normally aspirated 1Hz diesel was a good motor. They often don't take kindly to a turbo being bolted on.
The manual boxes are not brilliant, but the rest of the vehicle is great.
Year model: minor changes only from 1990 to 1999 after which there were extensive upgrades.
You have the choice of 3, 6 or 11 seats. The 6-seater is called an RV.
Like any vehicle thats more than 10 years old, anything can be wrong. But a good service history and a quiet gearbox is a good start.
With respect to servicing, check when the timing belt was changed, and the front end swivel hubs and bearings were last done.

I have owner a 2000 Troopie for 4 years .... they are a great vehicle.

I service mine every 5000km (despite manufacturer saying 10,000km is ok) - I have also added slicky to oil.

Generally few problems as long as you keep underside clean after beach 4WD. Only problem so far was blew 5th gear gearbox towing a medium sized pop top van .... don't use 5th gear when towing.

Apart from that, but, 4WD often and enjoy.

look for cracks in teh a pillars if its had a heavy rack on.

check that the drain holes in the front doors are clear
