Ok i guessing if you trade it you might as
well strip all the good bits and sell them privately because they will probably not give you extra $$ if you leave them on???
But whats the consensus on a private sale??? To me it seems a bit of a mystery. The car is probably more likely to sell will all the extras but do you get value for $$ by leaving them on??? Maybe people like a car that is standard???

Where I bought
mine from the sales guy loved to use an old saying "there is a bum for every seat"......I reckon in this day and age you have to make your 4by stand out from the 100's out there, so the extras should help you move it. BUT I doubt you would get value for money for them.
Pro's for leaving them on
1 Higher sale price
2 More desirable for someone who wants to use it as a 4by
3 Maybe sell easier
Con's for leaving them on
1 Not get their true worth
2 Wankers asking if it has ever been offroad!!!! (like duh)
I think if you leave them on you will attract more serious people who understand what they are buying, not the wallys who want that "4wd that has never been offroad"
Just got to hope the higher selling price with acc will come close to meeting the price you may get for them seperate. OR quote 2 prices for the car one with acc one without and let the buyer decide.
Cheers Stefan

Brew34.5,
I sold my GQ with everything on it and I got a really good price, the yards were just going to give me a price for a GQ and that was it, 4.2 ST I'd fitted a turbo and a host of other stuff.
For me it comes down to presentation, the guy who bought my GQ got an RAC inspection carried out and the "inspector" said too the guy buying it that it was one of the best GQ's of that year he had inspected. When the guy buying the vehicle came inside to fill in the paperwork he saw the pictures on the wall of what the vehicle had looked like during some of the more extreme trips. This gave him more assurance looking at the vehicle that it had been looked after despite being off road.
If the vehicle looks like crap you'll get a crap price, that's my opinion, when you drop it at a yard you may as
well leave it as it is after a trip in the bush, you'll get no more.
Service and repair records you keep yourself, receipts for the accessories showing when they were bought and how much they cost, plus some may still have a warranty, I find all this stuff to be good info and gives you the seller a better bargaining point. Better than just standing there with a bunch of keys.
My opinions others may vary.

I left everything on/in
mine. Bullbar,rear stepbar,bigger
wheels, ipf spotties,
snorkel, inside I left the uhf (was only a cheapie anyway) 6 stacker with the six speakers all pioneer stuff amp under
seat, floor mats,
seat covers, plus I had all the service books from day 1. Any of the oil changes I did at the usual 4k I kept the receipts and wrote the klms and date it was done. Myn was a 89 2.8D toyo hilux D/Cab with just on 300k and got 10k for it. The 2 things I did take off were the canopy and the
water tank. Got $500 for the canopy and $70 for the
tank which cost me 2 slabs to get made. I reckon leave on what you can as people start to get the bleep s if you start taking things off and especially if you leave holes everywhere where things should be eg cd player, uhf etc. Also I think it depends on what your getting/updating too I wasnt planning on another model of the same hilux so knew nothing bar maybe the spotties and uhf would have fit and one of the spotties had a crack in the lens anyway and the uhf as said was only a cheapie but it did the job. I reckon I got top $$$ for
mine and was very happy with the sale. Was told I wouldnt get more then 7K proved them wrong. Have since spoke to the bloke that bought it and he is totally rapped. Regards Steve M
