Can any one help me with advice on how to get the red dust stains off an alloy bull bar and bring it back to new look.

They look great when new but after a few years and trips look terrible.

I found some alloy cleaner Nathan had in the shed for his bikes so gave it a go but had to do really hard scrubbing (on a 12yr old bullbar though) - so I resorted to putting the front half of the car through mum and dad's garage - got a new bullbar - now i can put off the cleaning for a few more yrs!!! LOL !!!

Dad keeps his bullbar clean by washing it religiously every weekend and never taking it on a dirt road!!!

Either way good luck with the scrubbing!

I prefer mine on the dull side. I used to resort to taping the top bit where the sun shone in my eyes but its not so bad now. You really need one of those machines that take a small polishing wheel on which you use compound and then elbow grease in the corners where the machine wont go. Meantime I dream up other more worthwhile things to do.

There are small workshops all over that build and polish them and you could get a quote. Alloy fabricators.

Autosol Metal Polish and a $28 buff from Supercheap Auto is the go ,,,

Another, if you can still get it, is Godard's Glow.

And when you finished, pls come and wash my Navara, been a bit naughty in the paddocks, and not looking forward to the clean up,,,, hehehehehehehe !
Cheers

Its part of your right of passage. A squeeky clean shining bar implies you have an urban taxi.

I gave up on mine years ago after living in the NT.

Heard urine works well.
So organise a BBQ with a couple of slabs of beer and enjoy the work with friends. :-).
What are friends for?

Hi, Autosol Metal Polish is the way to go, if really stained use 800 wet & dry paper with water and the polish , Autosol seems to put a protective coating on it as well .
I have been useing it on my mags for years and it is worth the money, use it sparingly .
Cheers Des.
