When I worked driving Concrete Aggis The boss tried various diesel conditioners , because of the constant ilding of the trucks. We only found two that worked in reducing smoke etc. so some do and some dont.

I've used Flash Lube diesel conditioner.
When I first used it I checked fuel consumption around town over about 1200km - got about 0.5 litre / 100km improvement on fuel economy.
Doesn't seem to make any difference when towing, but conditions change so much day to day it's pretty hard to make reliable comparisons.
At the end of the day, 0.5 litres/100km is a marginal improvement. Whether it keeps things clean inside the engine I don't know.
Cheers

I get a bottle now and then and put it through 50mm at a time as recommended. the important thing from my point of view is that it dissolves any moisture in the
tank. Moisture in the
tank leads to algea growing and blocking up the works. It cant do the injectors any harm either, removing build up of whatever on the spraying ports. Thats if they really do. I have seen improvements to a smoky motor but never noticed any fuel economy improvements.
I only use it every year or so its cost effective, yeah.

Heads or Tails , yes or no , cost effective ,yes if they work ,no if they dont , been using the Moreys diesel conditioner , does it work? like to think so , no smoke at start up and no smoke at planting the right foot , is my fuel economy better ? just a tad but realy not measurable enough to say "go and use ect ect" , do know though that when I dont use it the 80 seems to be "not quite itself " as per power and smoke.
