Looks like a neat unit. Do you have to run it off cannisters & if so how much per cannister & how long will a cannister run it. Can you connect to a LPG cylinder. Thanks. Barry

if its the same size cannister as we use in the little stove, they are 220g cans.
site says comsumption is 120g/hour.
that means they will run for 1480 hours on one can.

Hey Howie.... 1480 hrs on 1 canister... think a typo mate...
From the blurb on the link the thing comes with a 220g canister and uses 120g per hour therefore nearly 2 hours on 1 canister.
Grrr!!!

it was a joke!
the correct answer is obviously 1 hour and 48 minutes.
i'm still searching for one though, swmbo is always slow at getting up pre-dawn in winter.
i see brownie points written all over this device.
" you've got your heater and i've got my in-dash motorised touch-screen"
thats fair isn't it?

Do they smell?? I have a heater that was designed for a sailing boat that runs on shellite and it stinks.

Ran a post on these some months back - and have warned Anaconda etc that they are selling a product which specifically states on the back to use 30/70 gas mix - whereas they have wrong gas fitted to there display models and don't even sell the compatiable gas.
Labelled warned of nasty consequences !
Its possible they have released a new version - check product label for correct gas mix to use Wayne

Hiya Guys
Now this unit runs about 2 hours on a 220gram Cartridge..2.5hrs on low.. What the box states
that you use a 70% Butane and 30% Propane..
I am using 80% Butane and 20% Propane (standard) without any issues at all.Gone through about 10 cans so far...
It has an oxygen depletion switch and anti tilt switch, piezo ignition like the small burner you can get..
Cheers

Use a little stove here with those gas cans and it works ok till real cold, you probably heard from posts like these that as butane boils just below zero, its hard to get any gas pressure when cans get cold, this has lead to all sorts of cute ways to keep your gas cans warm like sleeping with it. More propane helps - as boils lower.
They are cute and effective, but I find it fascinating that you see the heaters with 100% butane cans in them on display in stores despite the warning on the label, and that they sell a product to which you cannot purchase the appropriate fuel.
Talk about potential liability issues !

Thanks for bringing it to my attention Robin..You walk into the store as you said, see it on display (working) with the cans in it not thinking about the butane mixtures etc etc..
Did you get a response from annaconda ??? Sounds like they did not bother
Like Arlec selling saftey boards that dont mate satisfactory with plug...Emails never were answered...Pathetic...
Cheers

I looked at these heaters and was quite impressed, until i read the detailed instructions, which practically tell you that you can only use in a 3 sided room or 4 sides without a roof etc., basically outdoors.
Also ran it in the store next to the blackcat and whilst ahead on start up, the blackcat soon was almost matching it despite being rated less.
In the end bought the blackcat and going to refill with mac coupler, (ordered) which will make it cheap as chips.
We run it in our van which is a poptop so plenty ventilation, generally run till van warmed up, insulation in walls warmed etc., then we put heater off and pull top down before going to sleep.
We were just alarmed at the amount of airspace they claimed you needed for the kovea, so perhaps others should be aware of this too.

Ron,
We have a procat, and it is a tent heater, so needs very little ventilation.
Why are you bothering to refill disposable cans, as for $30 you can buy a coleman hose that fits a common gas bottle and run it off that. The same sort of bottles you will get to refill you disposables, without the wastage?

Pesty ,the whole beauty of the Coleman system/s is portability is it not ?? using the heater via the adaptor hose you lose some of that portability same as with the Coleman hot
water system ect , another advantage is that you can "measure" your gas usage as a refill is 800gram same as a new canister and it is easy as to refill at a cost of round $1.40 per , another advantage is that you can transfer from the Coleman canister to an empty 4 - 4.5 - 9kg cylinder when some one has run out in the middle of nowhere.
