My advice is that if they don't look like a turbo tent, aren't as strong as a turbo tent, aren't as heavy as a turbo tent then they probably won't last as long as a turbo tent. I have a turbo 240 and it is great and well made.

Second that. Have a 240 turbo. Looked at the lite's and there is just no comparision. Wouldnt even consider a lite after what I have put mine through and ist still going strong.

Good to hear the positive feed back on the Turbo's - I'm looking at getting two for the family in htenear future.
I went to a camping shop and checked out the 240, certainly looked the goods. They did not have a lite, but I was intersted in the lite due to having to lift two of the suckers onto the roof.
I currenlty lift a 13kg OzTent microfast onto the roof, it is an awqward shape - thus my concern about increasing the tent weight.
Anyways, the bag shape is quite good and I found lifting the tent not to be a problem. The sales rep said he could get a lite, but advised against it (he did not have tubo stock other than the demo either). He said the only repairs they have had have been on the lite tents.
The big test was that the two eldest boys 10+12 were each able to put up the tent on their own - so now I'm really interested !

Hi
We just bought a turbo lite plus 2.7 from bcf.com.au for $699 which is a great price. It is also a special size for them (usual is 2.4). We are testing it out for 6 weeks in Qld including CapeYork starting Saturday. The reason we went for the turbo lite was obviously it is much lighter and older kids can handle it and it is much bigger than the turbo 2.4 - it will easily sleep 4 plus another decent area for kids stuff - in a pinch i reckon it could sleep 8. In a turbo 2.4 to get all this would cost a mint (for additional attachments) and it would weigh a tonne. I also was told by a salesman that Black Wolf say it is still waterproof without the fly. Horses for courses I guess but the lite is a far better proposition for us.
Cheers
