Hi all I have a 98 mod 100 ser T/D 4.2 L/C and it has a Safari Turbo fitted and I was under the car the other day and noticed oil from the breather pipe so I replaced it only to find it still leaks and seams to be coming from the sump side of the pipe they have inserted and I have been told that it is just a spike and that there is no internal nut to keep it tight and sealed so can anyone enlighten me on the method an installer would use to put this into a sump as I would like to stop the leak ASAP .
Regards J.B.

Hi Johnny boy
I install turbos and when we do it we remove the sump and braise a steel fitting into it so it doesn't leak. Others I have seen only spike the sump.
You can try cleaning around the fitting with a solvent like carby clean or brake clean and then use a sealant like Loctite
grey. I have found the
grey is excellent.
BTW that pipe is the oil drain pipe from the turbo.
The breather pipe should go to the barb that is on the inlet side of the turbo between the turbo and air filter. Sometimes these can cause a film of oil around the inlet and its a good idea to run these via a catch
tank.
Hope this helps
