Hi all.
As is common, my Prado rear indicators are on the lower bumper only, while the upper assembly on the body host only brakes and reverse lights. I am going to insert and wire up an indicator bulb into the upper tail light assembly.
First thing I am wondering about... The tail light assembly in clear colored, and the indicator flashing will need to be yellow coloured.
Can I get yellow bulbs? Do I put yellow celophane on the inside? Yellow paint or something on the outside?
I am sure people have done this before. How is it done?
Tone

Hi Tone,
AFAIK you can get yellow bulbs. If not, there is a dye u can buy to paint the bulbs (i've seen it at Sprint Auto Parts here in SA)
Hope this helps
Cheers, Brad

you can also buy a dye to paint the inside of the lense...... I have done it on my old 4runner after I put it over the pits in QLD. That was one thing they wanted repaired. They told me to get new lenses and could not say anything when the lenses were painted with the dye.

Hi Tonester
Buy a Jackaroo, it's all done properly in the first place.;)
But seriously, I believe you can buy yellow (amber) bulbs and I am sure I've seen little bottles of coloured lens repair stuff for sale ,I have never tried it so don't know if it's any good.
Cheers Boldjack.

Tone,
I think you'll find the front blinkers on your Prado already have the coloured globes. You can buy them anywhere.

Your local '
sign'
shop will give you some offcuts of yellow transculent vinyl. The type we use for back lit signs. Would be OK for your application.
