Hi all, I have a 2007 Patrol and am interested in getting rid of the annoying chimes that happen when you have the drivers door open with the ignition key inserted. Anyone out there known how to silence it ? Ther are the obvious answers ... like "get a Toyota" .... "close the door" etc.

Just fixed this last week - I'll try to find the link to the Patrol forum for you - there are some pics. Basically you remove the steering wheel shroud (three screws) and unplug the small black connector under the steering wheel. Takes 2 minutes.

Hi Peter, Thanks for that reply. I'll wait for thr link. I only want to stop the chimes from the open door, not headlights on etc.
I'll be on the Canning Stock Route during July also. We are in Broome and will head down the inland road from Hedland next week. Then out to the Canning.

Correction. It's a white connector - see pic. And yep only the door chime stopped.

We start up the CSR from Wilun around the 24th so we may see you on the track.

Thanks again Peter. Checked out the link and looks simple. I have had the shroud off before to access a switched wire for the trailer electric brakes. Will do it after breaky. We head out from Ned's Creek about the 7th.

OK - sounds like we'll see soon after we leave Wiluna then. We're traveling with another Patrol and a disco.
