So i want to get me a winch....Ironman 9500....and i wanna install it myself.
How much is there to this?
I have a winch bar.
I know the red one is positive.
I know the black one is negative.
So how much more is there to this?????
Feedback appreciated.
Once again....thanks.

Not much. The hardest bit will be lifting the winch into place. Same bolt pattern as a Warn. Same winch on sale at Aldi for $599 but you probably don't have one close I'm guessing. The 12,000lb Ironman is the same size just higher spec.

Have fun.

Hi Wayne. I was at Ironman yesterday. In a few weeks time a new model 9500lb winch will be on the market. This allegedly has better weatherproofing of the winch and control module and a different / better finish (non-rusting) on the hardened gears. Contact Adam at Ironman(VIC) for further details.
No affiliation with Ironman, just found them very helpful.

I did my Ironman 9500 in about 3 hours. Holding the winch with 1 hand while trying to line up the bolts with the other wasn't easy in the dark but life wasn't meant to be easy.....
The slowest part was mounting the control box. The nissan winch bar has a plate to punch out, I did that and then manufactured it into something to bolt the control box to. I wouldn't have been so fussy and would've put it somewhere else if I knew how good the remote control was. Make sure you get the one with the remote, they are so much better than the cable and plugin thing, I have tested the range to 25 metres so far.....

Yes Nic once I saw how easy it was I too reckon the hardest bit is the fitting of the control box.

I too will "either find a way or make one"
