Hi all
On our way up the Stuart Hwy this year we are contemplating a diversion via
Davenport Range National
Park. We will be heading north. If anyone reading this has been there, what is the best way in and out? Are the roads suitable to tow a Tvan in there? More importantly, is it worth the diversion in the first place?
Thanks
Peter

Peter
I haven't been that way for a while but will be re-visiting the Davenport Ranges sometime in July.
Go to my website below, click on 4x4 and then scroll down the page to Travel Stories and click on
Davenport Range. It was written a while ago but I doubt if much has changed in the ensuing time
You should be OK taking a T-van in there.
Cheers

What a great spot - although I haven't been there for 25 years !! - before it was a Nat
Park.
I was there on field work with BMR/AGSO/GA as a Cartographer drawing maps of the area - get a copy of the regional 1:250 000 Geol map from NTGS called Davenport Province.
I would think your van would make it OK and the diversion should be worth while.
I believe the main entry point would be just North of
Wauchope. (pronounced 'walk up')
Cheers
