G'day all just wondering if anyone can help me out. I have a 2000 model troopy and want to fit a roof rack. Does anyone have any advise as to which brands are best or not so good and any idea about price?

Depends on what your looking for I guess...

I put on heavy duty racks and then bolted a cage to those.. I wanted to be able to put it on by myself and found that the all in ones are nearly impossible unless you have some sort of pully system etc.

I looked at Rhino and Thule for the racks.. Bought Thule but they weren't long enough in the legs and when he got the next size up they were stupidly long.... like really silly... Long story, but stuck with them.

My suggestion if your looking for straight racks look at Rhino, cost about $100 more than Thule but much better fit.

Cheers Matt,

I was actually thinking more along the lines of roof rack basket tjm etc. but your idea is worth considering aswell it may work out to be more cost effective.

Thanks for the reply, Scott

Scotty,
I fitted Thule (part No. 952) roof bars to my troopy, cause I didn't want the weight of a full length rack and all the stuff I would probably put up there! The 952 legs fit the troopy spot on! just enough room to get in to any bolts on the rack, or to clean. Not regretting it at all, but mine were just to mount a tent.
