Forester Sump Protector

One of my parent’s friends had his mechanic make one out of chequer plate aluminium after the plastic one got ripped off somewhere.

I think that is basicly the road you need to go down, either make one up yourself or find someone who can knock one up, I made one for the radiator on my explorer, only took me a hour, "Borrowed" the ali plate from work and cut it up, hid in a welding bay and put it all together well I was waiting for some valve seals to show up.

There is a company in NSW, Goulburn I think that make bullbars and sump guards.

The guard on my '03 Forester is off an older 'L' series model - cost $15 from a wrecker. It required some mods to the rear bolt holes (wider) and a piece of metal welded to the front to extend it to match the holes at the front - 1 hours work.

Does the job at the right price.

Don't even waste your time with the wrecker.

What are the chances of two people finding sump guards for Forresters in a wrecker? There must have been about fifty of them made.
