Hi Has anyone got ideas how to pressurise a caravan . The new vans seem to have too many vents, all facing the wrong way.
I have though of fitting two flip up vents on the slope of the roof near the front, it is a full height van.

Buy a roof vent...they open up and face forward...they work a treat...just open it up b4 you close the door and remember to shut it if it starts raining...

My KK has a hurricane vent on the front with an air filter to filter dust out. It has a vertical pipe to allow air to enter and exclude
water. They apparently work.

hi Robbie maybe you good pull the vents out & put some Insertion rubber flaps in behind the vent that should stop most of the dust from getting in & still let the van breath.
Best of luck with it.

I have read the answers about putting vents facing forward, , beware,
I loaded a Hired Manitou forklift in
Cairns to carry it back to
Brisbane, it was loaded on backwards, they left the little sliding rear window open, somewhere along the way the 100k plus wind pressure blew the large side window out, the one between the boom and the Cab ,

You can buy what they call a pressure hatch and it is about 15cm X 7.5 cm.
Opens up facing forward and provides enough inflow to prevent dust around fridge and door vents etc.
Easy to fit yourself or the local van place will do it fairly low cost.

what brand of van most of the new vans have a pressure hatch we have never used it but dont seem to get much dust in anyway
it is on small and snaps like a mouse trap so dont get your fingers caught normally at the towing end of the van

If your van does not have a pressure hatch , get one they work
well.
We have one in our Off road van and keep it open whilst travelling dirt roads and tracks keeps most of the dust out not all as the dust from passing vehicles will still enter.
And do not forget to close the vent when it rains, I have forgotten and although the vent is directly above the sink it still made a mess.
The vent also helps to vent hot air from the van when stationary.

Hi Robbie,
I have the same vent on my offroad van as the others have suggested. I was told they are called a scopper vent, not sure if thats a local name for it but it definately works. We made up an insect screen, sewed velcrow to it and then used the self adhesive velcrow to fasten it to the vent. Keeps out all the bugs etc,
Regards from Col.

Hi Robbie,
It was installed on our Windsor van when we purchased it by
Geelong Caravans as an after sales accessory. I would contact a local caravan accessory or sales place near you in S. A. and ask them if they could sell you one. If that fails give
Geelong Caravans a call, sorry i don't have their number.
Good luck, regards from Col.
