Paps,

Rippers. Don't want to start a blue but better saw for the money than a Stihl IMO. I've got a 365 and its done 4 winters of wood to date (only form of heating) and is like brand new. From memory the 359 is the start of the heavier duty saws which for most are more than enough. If you are going to use it a lot pay a bit extra and get the XP model.

Had a Husky for 30 years, did a lot of heavy fencing with it early in its life and it has never missed a beat, worn out a couple of bars and lost count of chains, I agree they are better than a Stihl

Better saw and better value than a Stihl IMHO.

It's a bit of a Nissan v Toyota debate though

Have had a husky 55 for 8 years and can't kill it with a stick.

Just be careful what you're comparing though. They all have different models starting from occasional use through to extreme duty professional.

Just have to compare apples and apples.

Spent a lot of years as a sleeper cutter in the bush and swear by the Husky, can't kill them and a lot of timber cutters have used them for years, go for it

all of the above are fair, as said make sure u are comparing the same grade of saw with each other(as there are entry through to pro, all of the grades of the saws mentioned are stilh good sorry but the pro have a more durable enginge) the other saw that i would look at is a Makita as they are dolmar saws made in Germany still, my advice would be to buy the saw that u can get serviced locally and the lightest saw that has the power u require of either of the three.

Used to work as a tree lopper myself and used Huskies on a daily basis.

Brilliant saws. Robust and reliable.

20 Years ago I bought a Conara wood heater and a Husky chainsaw........something 45. Both stove and saw just keep working.
I bought a Stihl for friends and its not even half the saw the Husky is. Now I own a Husky ride on mower and Husky wipper snipper. All great gear

Thanks for all the replies guys. It was a Stihl I was thinking off but they do seem bloody expensive for a handy saw. The Huskys do seem to be cheaper and I wanted to make sure they weren't cheaper. Cheers Paps.
