As of last month June 17th, None.

Not not from Laura river to Laura town or anywhere in Lakefield park. In fact the road in the park from the ranger station to Laura river has some of the worst corrugations on the whole cape.

How you can get caught out, my RACQ map shows some of it tar. Just as well I asked. Do you know anything about the condition, ie how rough, the Battlecamp Road is? Last year it was very good, as I'm heading for Pandanus it might be better to go that way.
Many thanks, Geoff

I think there's some confusion here between LakeFIELD & LakeLAND !!!
As far as I know- the road between Laura & Lakeland is sealed !!

While I haven't driven the Lakeland to Laura road since Easter 2006, this section of road was a combination of bitumen and gravel from memory. From Lakeland there was a section of bitumen heading to Laura for about 10-12 kms to about where the farms finish and then gravel and then bitumen near the caves for about 8-10 kms and then again in the Laura township before giving way to gravel again.

But I wouldn't bet more than $5 that my recollection is right!!!

Geoff C,
Last year in August the Lakeland Downs to Laura road was partly sealed and work was progressing on some of the remainder. Don't know if it is all sealed yet, but if you are coming from the south, then Lakeland to Laura is the shortest way to Pandanus. Battlecamp road is as good as the last time it was graded. Have seen it as an unlimited speed highway and also as badly corrugated as the Cape development road.
Cheers,
Bros.

As of Spetember last year, it was 95% gravel. Small sections of road are blacktop.
