Why not a 'tube' similar used on camera lenses for that reason...
Make one out of cardboard for starters and see how it goes..(thats for the camera)
If it's the screen thats the problem- why not a líl sunvisor over it ??

Dave,
Rang the Vision Glare people 07 3808 4250 and asked the quesion.
If its glass screen no problem, if its perspex it is recommended that it be done by the Vision glare people themselves as any mistake in applying can be a costly exercise.
They are in
Brisbane and have no representatives in other areas.

Have you thoought about tinting your windows, and cutting down on the overall glare !
That should work.
And now that I have said that, please don't tell me that your windows are tinted !
Cheers

Dave
I saw a thing on ebay which in effect was a sunshade for a TomTom navigator. It looked like it was a piece of cardboard covered in some black material which was attached to the TT by velcro. It was "U" shaped and protruded out from the front and sides of the TT by about 70mm. I thought it looked easy to make yourself, but, as usual, havent got around to it yet.
