Hi
Anyone on here know where we can buy that film you stick on your rig to protect it from branch scratches etc,we are in Adelaide. Feed back on how well it works and ease of use would be great too.
Thanks Lyndon & Bernadette

I think if you ask Willie (Epping)- he'll tell you the material did more damage to the vehicle than branches and overhangs would have done !!

There is another product that you paint on. It lasts approx 6 weeks and peels off easily. It's called AutoSkin from memory and I bought it from an AutoPro shop.
Put it on a couple of days before you go to the scratchy areas and it works really well.

Lyndon,

I just got back from 10 weeks outback. Used the auto skin product on the Patrol and was very impressed with the protection it offered. I put it on too early and it got wet quite a few times on the trip up north with some of it peeling off but I had enough left opver to reapply before the rough stuff. It was on for 8 weeks and hosed off with little difficulty at the local car wash. Car looks a million bucks and considering what it went through, particularly scrub bashing out the back of Rudall River (track had washed away). I put my Navara thru some of the same country last year and it needed a cut and polish and touch up after the trip so was very happy this time round. I got it at opposite lock for about $65 I think. If you have the clear perspex wind deflectors on your front windows, don't hesitate to roll it on them as well.

Cheers. Mick

Err, you are selling/never used it because it was no good? You bought it because?

I have used the Auto Skin it works well, saved my paint when I did the Eagle Hwy
And other tracks last year.

Just don’t apply it to plastic it’s a pita to remove, also don’t apply to bonnet when it heats up it seems to blend into the paint work.

And after 12 months I still find traces of it, but I still think it’s a great product
think i got it from TJM

Cheers

3m Scotch Guard .. some backyard tint places will get it or do it ..
or buy it from the US .. it is expensive and not easy to put on ..
I have it on my whole truck .. bonnet partly roof partly , sides and front
complete above the side moulding to go on ..
the real scotch guard lasts around 6-9 years depending how you maintain it ..
can be removed without damage on a real hot day ... thats what they say ...
so far .. easy to clean .. does not scratch at all .. I will see what mileage I
get out of it .. I had it done in the US from a 3m installer (with warranty - well not worth much here) .. I enquired here in OZ b4 I had it done over there and the
infor I received was .. yes we can get it .. and no we can not do it at that price (the one I was quoted in the US)

good luck
