How old is your battery? I think once a month should be fine and you do need to drive it otherwise you might get flat spots on your tyres

If possible keep the battery on float charge all the time.

You should start and drive it as often as possible - certainly once a month. It's important to drive it in order to turn the transmission and keep the seals, bearings etc oiled, equally the tyres, suspension, wheel bearings etc need to be exercised.

Don't forget to run the airconditioning for a few minutes too.

People with part-time 4WDs who don't use 4WD often should also find a km of straight road from time-to-time and drive their vehicle in 4WD high (don't turn many corners) for a few minutes to keep the transfer case and front diff oiled.

I thing that you mean to do up the hubs but drive in 2H (not 4H), has the same effect and safer. The wheels turn the diff, front shaft & transfer.

Good idea and a better way to do it with manual hubs but it won't work if you have auto locking hubs.

A few hundred metres on straight sealed road every month or so won't produce any transmission wind-up worth mentioning I suspect.

You are probably right, I am only familiar with my own vehicle which has manual hubs. I agree a few hundred metres in a straight line won't hurt anything either way. Cheers.
