I finally got to test out my new springs and shocks. Plus I put some new muddies on yesterday as.
WELL it has opened up a whole new 4WDing experience, had so much fun today trying more challenging tracks ect. I now know why people said putting a lift in won't stop you denting side steps, you just go up harder tracks and still bang'em!! I should have done the mods sooner cause it makes the car handle SO much better on the rough stuff....standard
suspension SUCKS!!
Just had to get that off my chest :)
Cheers Stefan

G'day Stefan.
Look, I'm a silly old fart and a bit slow. (Have even been known to buy
inverters, site unseen), but explain to me how different springs and shocks will transform a vehicle Sucking into a vehicle Super.Body damage is immaterial at the time, (sure, will hurt later), but running gear damage at the time hurts then and there. So to my mind, you must raise both the sump and rear diff, not just the cosmetics.
Show me what I haven't seen.
Happy driving, eh.
Jeff.

G'day Jeff,
Always looked after my diff's ect, the improvement in approach angle, ramp over angle ect made alot more tracks accessible to me. Plus with the new tyres that just helped more

Stephan,
I know what you mean coz after a mere $1200 bucks of fitting Old Man Emu springs, shocks and a steering damper it is like driving a totally different disco.I love a firm but comfortable ride with extra travel and there is flatter cornering now as
well.Probably the best accessory i have fitted to the car and there have been many.
Cheers Mark

Hi Stefan,
Glad you finally made your pootroll as capable as a yota!!(LOL).
I was out at the Turon the other day and the river was up about 18 inches. I went in the way that you will be going and the whole area was 1-2 foot deep black mud as npws had recently graded the roads. After having lunch , I went out thru
Capertee and there was signs and barricades up at
the entrance to say that it was closed. But nothing at the sunny cnr end. Anyone without muddies will be getting towed alot but I would guess that the area is still probably closed.
It might be a good idea to check with npws the week b4 the trip.
I'd hate to be caught in there if the barriers are still up. They are just as likely to close the area permanently (you know what they are like). There was a pootroll and a 4 runner doing donuts everywhere tearing it up but I couldn't see their plates because of the mud. When we went out we could clearly see where they had driven around the closed signs.
Regards
Tour Boy
