Heading off from Melb to Innaminka via
Broken Hill and then back thru
Arkaroola to the
Flinders ranges soon. Can anybody tell me if it is worth going via
mutawintji Nat
park for a one day stop over. Also, when heading north from
broken Hill is there a fruit and veg checkpoint like the one near
renmark. I don't want to load up with food and then throw the lot in the bin. Thanks in advance. Linz.

No quarantine check point north of the
Hill and Mutawinji is worth spending a night.
There is heaps to see in the general vicinity of
Broken Hill and I could easily spend a week between the
Hill and Camerons Corner.
If heading up that way I would also recommend a look in at
Milparinka. The
Bore track through Bollards
Lagoon is a nice run and saves a bit of time.

Hi Biglinz,
Mutawintja Nat
Park has rugged gorges, aboriginal art work and
engravings and is brialliant. I've been there three times and if you could spend more time there i don't think you would be disappointed.
Regards from Col.

We stopped at Mootwingie on our way to
Innamincka....the land owners offer guided tours of the
cave art sites for a red note donation....on our way from there, we took a road through beautiful country that came out at
Packsaddle, would thoroughly recommend you do thesame, then fort Gray is a good walk amoungst
ruins of original homestead/fill up point for fresh wate, then Milparincka...also, the National Parks in the main street of Tiboburra has an eye opening re-enactment of Sturts expodition...no wonder the aboriginies were throwing spears....
Dig tree round trip is another great drive... enjoy yourself....let us know when you return if one of the "Telecom" (1977) branded phone boothes are still there.

Thanks everybody for the information. We'll definitely detour to Muntawinja, and
Milparinka and
Bore track were both being considered and are now confirmed. Not long to go now.
