Gday, this is a bit off topic and I hope Im not miss-using the site.
We are moving to WA, my wife has family just out of
Perth.
I would very much appreciate advice on employment in the mines over there.
I have an MC truck licence, Green card (OH & S) and have over 20,000 hrs on heavy agricultural equipment and will have a go at anything.
I am heading over in approx 2wks time with my family following a month later.
Any help/advice much appreciated.
Regards
Dave
PS - I can be contacted direct on dles1@optusnet.com.au, if preferred.

This is also worth looking at. Contact them direct.

If you are going to be living south of
Perth this will be Drive-in/Drive-out, 7 days on/7days off:
ie you drive in, stay for 7 days, drive out for your week off.
No flying.

Gone Bush,
Thanks for your reply, I checked out that site and it looks good.
We will be living in Byford, so it would be a very handy place to work for travel, although I don't mind where I get have to go to get a start.
Cheers mate

David, Byford would be very handy (I'm in Mandurah, not really that far away).
Ignore the fact that the job applications have closed off on that site. Email the contact person direct because every minesite is struggling for personnel these days.
Hope it works out for you.

Nope. those days seem to have gone. Unfortunatly now the secrets out with managers getting flooded with resumes. Biggest problem is getting a foot in the door without minesite expeirnce. All the companys do is pay higher and higher wages to poach workers with experience with a luckydip or through people that know people getting in without experiene.
Remoteness of a minesite means nothing as
Perth is just a plane flight away. If you change jobs you just jump on a different plane.
M/C experience should go along way though.
If you can drive a loader and operate a side tipper there seems to be a fair bit going for road train operators at
places such as Goulds. Looks easy. Self load at the rom then cruise to the mill and tip it off. Hour or so round trip depending then do it again
