Hi all,
Brother in law just bought a new 3.0L Dielse prado...while checking it out we found a Idle up button. Pushed it a few times with engine running..seemed like nothing happened. Does anyone know what this is for, could not find anything in the owners manual about it...or is it an option....Told him i would ask on the
forum as some one will have an answer....
thanks
Mick

If it is the same as the cruiser TD it will increase idle speed when cold, but does not work at operating temp.

Apparently the idle up feature is used in Europe (cold climates) to warm the engine up.
Well that's what the Toyota dealer told me when we brought our new TD cruiser.

G/Day Mick, as said above it will only work when the temperature is below about 10degrees,with the auto you have to be in
park or neutral,if you engage drive when it is on it goes back to idle. Friar

Mick, maybe not quite related to your question, but on the truck I drive, by pressing the 'set cruise' button quite a few times while stationary, the engine idle speed increases.
I haven't got cruise on my LC, and don't know if that works on all vehicles with cruise.
