Hi
Does anyone have one of these bags? They are 1m wide and marketed for use in swags, rated at 0 degrees which combined with canvas on a swag should be warm enough for most SA Camping applications. What I really want to know is the fact tha they are a cotton outer any advantage in reducing moisture inside? I often get a layer of moisture from the underside of the swag on my nylon sleeping bag - would cotton be an advantage or a problem in absorbing the moisture more?? I like the 1m wide idea because I don't like being cramped up in my sleeping bag.
Thanks

Hi D-Jack
We have two of them zipped together as a giant sleeping bag - fantastic we think. We bought them purely so we weren't squished with each other in the usual sleeping bag. Of course it is cold when we first get in them but it's not long at all before the body warmth has warmed it up. Then we're toasty warm all night and I hate when I have to get out of them. We use ours in the tent and camper on a self inflating thermarest type matress.
We also throw a blanket on top and have done on the colder nights but last weekend we forgot to take that blanket, we were a bit too far up the road to turn around and go back for it. We found we weren't all that cold from not having it. We were lucky enough to have a thinner blanket in the 4WD that we used on Saturday night, it was quite cold that night at
Warraweena.
I can't speak of what it would do in a swag but we don't get any condensation under it with our matress.
Hope this helps you?

Thanks Muddies. I was just happy to get a reply, as not so many people seem to have them. I was more interested in the whole condensation thing in the swag, but it is good to know they will be warm. They are rated at 0 degrees, so with extra 15oz canvas on top I should be toasty! Thanks for taking the time to reply

p.s. how cold did it get at
Warraweena??

Hi D-Jack
No idea but was quite cold, maybe 2-3 degrees.
Enough for ice to form on the 4WD's and ice in the dishwater.
Saturday night was really cold with Sunday night almost as cold.
