AC Condensation

I have a 62 series cruiser and it appears that condensation, or a leak from somewhere, is accumulating inside the vehicle, just under the glovebox on the passenger side.
About a cup of clean water is on the floor under the carpet.
I think it may have happened after using the AC with the heater to reduce condensation on the windows inside the car whilst driving.
Has anyone experienced this and if so what is the remedy.
Thanks,
Ron.

Hi Ron,
It is normal for air conditioners to remove moisture from the air as part of their operation. The AC using will probably have a drain that allows the condesate to drain from the vehicle, it is usually vented to the underside of the vehicle. To prevent dust and water ingrees, there is usualy some sort of rubber 'valve' arrangment at the end of the tube. It is not uncommon for the valve end to get blocked with a bit of dirt etc causing it to seal. Once sealed the level of condensate rises to the point that it overflows the AC housing and spills into the vehicle.
Just get under, find the rubber valve and squeze / clear it.
Paul.

I also had issues with the drain hose disconnecting. Or perhaps it is split?

It is fairly accessible.

The Holden Commodore had a problem a while back a bit like this and every now and then you had to turn the fan up full and close all the vents. This blew the muck out of the drain pipe and you were good for another few months.

Ron, I would be checking the outlet pipe.
It does vent out under the passengers side floor at the front.
I haven't had a problem with mine yet, but I know if I do get wet carpets, that's the first place I would look.
