Hi y'all. I'm looking to fit a good fifth wheel hitch for my 40' fifth wheeler. Hopefully it will be one that will improve the handling of my F250 somewhat, which can be a bit of a handful sometimes!

I'm hoping that some others out there have also upgraded their hitch and maybe could offer some advice on what to look for, and maybe some recommendations based on their set up?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your help. I Will do. I have been researching myself online and am find myself thinking along the lines of a bigger Reese one: maybe the 22K model. But also found one via Google.com.au which looks nicer than the typical black ones - a MiniMax by D'Angelo. Has anyone here had any experience of this model? They don't say what it is rated for...

here's link to their site:

www.dangelo.com.au - the link code below does not work for this???

and the Reese one for comparison:

I'd suggest a hitch with an airbag in it, which is what we have, as this takes a lot of the harshness out of the 5th wheel relying on the truck suspension when traveling. In fact ours has both an airbag and a shock. It is hard for me to make a comparative judgment, having never experienced anything else, but most of the time it is a smooth tow.

In following some of the discussions on RV.net/forum, this seems to be the way to go.
