G'day,

Thanks

Hi Rip: We stayed there Sept '06. It's big, pretty good standard, you have your own 'en-suite' like a concrete bunker. Nice shaded pool for kids. Reasonably central to Darwin attractions - furthest away would be 15 or 20 mins. Was pretty full then so I would recommend booking. We would stay there again, closer to CBD than the Big4 south of town.

Midges abound.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Ray

Yes a nice park but the local fauna is not so friendly. We moved to Howard Springs to get away from the midges and sandfly's. Also a nice park with bus trips to the markets and close to shops, great pools and kids facilities.
I think you would have to book ahead in any of these parks, wise thing. Though the parks empty early September as the wet threatens.

We were there for a week in late July 2006. We thought it was great. If staying for a week or more, make sure you get an ensuite site. Same price as normal powered site, but they meter and charge electricity seperately. For our week, the electricity bill was less tha $2.00. Though we have a CT and only run lights, fiidge and battery charger. Just shows how much of a rip off powered sites are normally for low power users.

We didn't find the midges any worse than anywhere else in the north and Kathryn really notices them. Probably varies by season.

Something I forgot to mention. The attraction of Lee Point to us in the first place was that, unlike most other CPs in Darwin, it is not near the airport or a major highway. Very quiet.

Yep - 07, 2006 - we stayed for 3 nights - not in an ensuite spot though - we thought it quite a good park, overall.
