Hi all I just got off the phone from a mate up north who has heard that Fraser is closing 17 KMs of beach but he don't know when or what part and about 30 of us have booked to go up with our Families in October and I'm a little concerned that we are not going to see as much as we would like, as 2 yrs ago we didn't get to the top of the Island and we all want to get there this trip so I hope some of you guys can help with some accurate and reliable info so we can prepare ourselves for any disappointment ?? hope to hear from you all .

Regards J.B.

It is the beach access around Hook Point that has been closed. You now need to use the inland road to get up through the Southern part of the Island.
Disappointing and done for very spurious reasons, I believe, but overall it does not greatly change your enjoyment of Fraser. Just makes access to you favourite area a bit less picturesque and probably a bit longer.

And a lot more trailers and caravans getting bogged trying to get onto the track. Snad around here normally soft. Hope people just use the same track so not to chop the whole lot up.
Have been bogged with our lighter trailer once when the tides were not right around hook point.
Cheers
Robyn
