ExplorOz Team - David
Hi everyone,
An update on the Weather system we use at ExplorOz. We have just formalised our registration for the BOM WMS data
services and we can now fully map all sorts of data. I am looking to extend our weather pages and can include a whole heap of elements.
As an example: here is a close up view (live update - cached locally for 15 mins) of wind, dry bulb temp and rain radars for
Melbourne:
I can add these to the weather pages if you want them and various other elements, I also want to graph the climatic averages and add them to the
places system and trek notes (to help work out weather conditions when you want to travel to
places).
I am looking for feedback to what else I should do with the weather system that would help you and your fellow travellers out and make the service even better?
One update I am looking at is the ability to select your local weather station so that site weather
views can default to your local area.
Enjoy.

" I also want to graph the climatic averages and add them to the
places system and trek notes (to help work out weather conditions when you want to travel to

Sounds worthwhile.
Max & min temps for a given month, + wind speed + hours of sunshine if available, would all be worthwhile to attempt to understand what an "average" 24 hours may hold for a given location. Hate that "average" word, but what else can you use but averages, considering brevity is also desirable?
What about a link to your residing state's BoM site? From there one can navigate to anywhere in the BoM site.
Cheers
