Hi, Im looking around for a good quality swag, could anyone reccomend a paticular brand or model. It is going to be used mainly in the victorian high country so it is going to be very water resistent. thanks.....

Julio C,
I have a swag that I bought from outback canvas(now outback campers) about seven years ago, it is a top swag. Jim the bloke that owns the mob used to be my scout leader years ago and he is a good fella to deal with.

Has never leaked on me from the blue mountains, to Vic high country to otways in winter to SW WA in winter. And its midge proof.

Have had a couple of different swags. Now have an AOBG ( australian outback bush gear) one and it is fantastic. It has woolen blankets sewn into the covers for warmth. Just sew up a queen size sheet like a sleeping bag and bobs ur uncle. Very warm. I also have a down dooner in mine for those really cold nights. Made out of very heavy canvas, with the top cover very loose to accomodate even large bodies. A woolen pillow cover as well as a canvas ones in wet weather. I put one of those coleman inflatable foam mattresses in mine as tookm the original one out ( although nothing wrong with original and i suffer bad backs). Would highly recommend. Regards

I have to agree Bob make a very good swag. The carry bags he makes are also well worth the extra dollars to keep the swag a bit cleaner in dusty conditions.

Cheers Kev
