Hi all
Has anyone had the oppurtunity to compare the noise of the D4D Prado with that of the 3 LT Patrol

Is that with windows open or closed??.
What does it matter??, both are capable vehicles in their own right.

We have both at work,and neither are particulaly noisey, but will take more notice When I drive them next.

My impression is that with either the D4D or ZD30, if your windows are down, they are both noticeably noisy diesel motors. Nothing comes close to the TDV6 of the Discovery Series 3.
However if the windows are UP, the D4D in the Prado is a lot quieter than the ZD30 in the Patrol, not that the Patrol is particularly noisy to be an issue. Even at full 4000 rpms.

No , but have compared previous deisel engine in Prado as neighour has one and complains about it .
